Long term patchy "rash" circular mark on ankle - no symptoms

Posted , 5 users are following.

Asking because my mum saw this and was concerned.... I've never really worried about it as it's been around for at least a year I think? I'm sure it used to be one circular mark, but now it's two - so it must be growing.

It doesnt hurt or itch, the redness disappears when pressed then reappears immediately. It's not raised or bumpy and no broken skin. I've tried nothing to get rid of it so far!

Going to pop into a pharmacy and ask next week too but any ideas?

Not sure. I would assume if there is no irritation that it is harmless. It looks like "ringworm'' but that usually itches. I would ask a dermatologist

Yes; pharmacy is good. I thought "ringworm" too particularly if it expands.

Ringworm has nothing to do with worms - it is a fungus and if that is what it is a cream will dispose of it

Thanks to you both... I've got Monday off so I'll ask at the Pharmacy and post anything they say! x

I too, thought of ringworm but I don't think it looks like typical ringworm and it is always very itchy and if you've had it for a year without itching or doing very much, it probably isn't.

What does your mum think it is?
