Long term prostatitis

Hi,
Like many of you I’m a prostatitis sufferer, the thing that baffles me is that I had this condition for 4 years now. I have been through runs of antibiotics for months at the time, which they helped till the course ended, last run was 3 months in a row. When it flares up I tend to get thrush too.
PSAs, urine culture etc turned all negative (apparently, as here in UK they do not hand you the results). However an intra rectal scan confirmed an inflammatory resentment on the prostate tissue.
I’m generally healthy, I’m not overweight I don’t smoke, I don’t drink, atm got no sex life, and I go to the gym frequently.
So, I don’t really know what else to do as I don’t think I can carry on with months of antibiotics courses at the time.
Any ideas or experiences?

How bad are the symptoms during flares up ? Can you manage it by avoiding certain foods? This is what I got from WebMD : " There's no research that proves eating certain foods can prevent prostatitis. But spicy foods, hot peppers, and chili can all bother your bladder and make prostatitis symptoms worse. Limit your caffeine and alcohol. Drinks like tea, coffee, and soda can inflame your urinary tract and bladder." Hank

Thanks for your reply, I've cut out alcohol and spicy food, never drank sodas and only have 1 coffee in the morning and one after lunch.
I'm readying up on other foods (such as yeast) that might cause the problem as well as supplements that might help. will try on rotation.
