Long term recovery problems

Posted , 7 users are following.

i had a hip replaced 3 years ago and a second 2 years ago. Because of proximity of surgeries and other ortho problems I have not exercised enough and now the muscles ache badly. Can anyone suggest a gentle regular exercise for both hips? I have a knee replaced too and the second is weak so nothing too strenuous!

I was told that cycling, swimming and aquagym are the best types of exercise for hips...I am going to see a gym tomorrow and I hope to join a few classes of pilates /yoga as well...Walking is good too; if you are looking for specific exercises I would google it!

    Hi Chris

Good to hear from you...hope things get better over the next months.

Just to add that I used the hospital physio exercise advice from the hospital, and lately my gym person trainer. So...no real advice...but your body is very unique and I suss you need a professional to look you over and thus make recommendations...plus a couple of follow up Appointments to see how you getting on.

    Good luck!

I downloaded pocket physio for hips and knees. It might be an idea for you to start at the beginning again with these gentle exercises. All the best.

Well done Georgie. I'm week 11_today but far from riding a bike. But now to be honest I haven't been on a bike for 15 years and that time I slipped off the pedals and had a painful **** for a few days. You enjoy it!!!
