Long Term Withdrawal Effects, Is It Possible? 8 months!

Hi all

I have been trying to get to the bottom of my symptoms for a while now. I was on 30mg Citalopram for approx 3.5 years and i stupidly stopped them abruptly in April 2022. I now realise my mistake, and i should have tapered.

One month after stopping, i developed muffled hearing in my right ear, whooshing/buzzing tinnitus and these symptoms soon followed:

Muscle twitching from head to toe

Electric/popping/tingling sensations on scalp and back of neck

Internal tremors

Anxiety/palpitations/fear

Sweating then freezing

Diarrhoea

Head pressure (not headache)

Thudding heartbeat felt throughout body, especially back of head and neck

Occasional stabbing pain through head

I have probably missed some, but 8 months after stopping Cit, the twitching, tinnitus and head pressure is still bothering me. They say that withdrawal can last up to 6 weeks, but has anyone had long-term withdrawal effects? If so, how long did they last and what were your symptoms?

I have once again been put on Cit 10mg.

Thank you.
