Long-time diarrhea

Posted , 2 users are following.

Lifetime constipated - sudden onset of diarrhea in Oct and has continued since. GP and GI no help. Colonoscopy normal. Took opioid for back pain - back to constipation. Stopped pain pills and going slowly back to loose.

Several mishaps - messy cleanup and ruined clothes. Is there any risk or known reason not to use a tampon after a loose movement? Works on the front outlet. Would help to avoid running and ruining outings. Afraid to leave the house at times. Help, please!  Thx. Dolly

I fully sympathise as I now live with the constant threat of diarrhoea since having part of my large colon removed to get rid of a malignant obstruction. At the time the hospital supplied me with a nappy pad held in place with an elastic underpant. It made me confident that a sudden attack could be contained. You can buy these on the internet from Tena. Now I never use them. I get the gripes but know when to anticipate action! I control affairs with Loperamide – 1 or 2 as a preventive. If I am going to be away from home Immodium Instant are highly effective at closing me down for a day or 2.
