Looking for ENT Dr. for Eustachian tube dilation

Posted , 4 users are following.

I’ve had Eustachian tube dysfunction since 2009, had tubes inserted twice.  Dr. won’t do another as the scar tissue causes hearing loss. The ENT doc closest to me has bad reviews.  I live in NJ, consider going to NYC or Philly. Does anyone know a doc that does the procedure there?  I called Acclarent and they refuse to give out Dr. names.

I’m sorry you have been dealing with this. I’ve had it for 7 months and it feels like a lifetime. 8 ENTs including 2 consults for dilation.

I started allergy shots 3 months ago and I feel slightly better.  Have you been tested for allergies

For dilation I’d go to Dr Dennis Poe in Boston.

Hello,  I live in England, so obviously unable to advise best ENT consultant to use.  Try Googling.

ETD is so awful and I feel for you.  Same you haven't read all of my posts to various people on this

Forum as my advise is always the same.

Because you've been usffering this awful condition for so long, like myself you need to be prescribed

a cause of Prednisolone Steroid tablets (20 day reducing course)  they will get rid of all the

inflammation that has swelled your tubes so they are unable to drain properly.

Over the years I've had many courses of Prednisolone and they are the only thing that gets me back

on track, plus smell and taste returns once inflammation has gone.  I then start to use steroid naal

drops that unfortunately aren't available in the US (this has been confirmed to me by my nephew who

is a Pharmacist out there) but a less strong steroid nasal spray called Flixonase, spelt slightly

differently over there, could potentially help when steroid tablets are finished....the spray could even

be used while on the tablets.

Let me know how you get on and good luck

    Anne

Dear tangolady,If you're interested in ETD take a look back at some of my comments on the subject.More than likely they won't help you,but at least they tell you the truth. The medics don't appear to.
