Looking for opinions on Bladder benign lesions

I'm a 60 year old non=smoker male. I recently had two cystoscopys in three days!!! First was in the doctors office under a local. He said I had some lesions that he needed to do another cysto to biopsy the lesions to determine if they are cancer. Two days later I went to a surgery center and I was put out. He did the cysto, took a biopsy and burned the lesions. I think it's called a turbt procedure. A week later the results of the biopsy came back as "Atypical but non cancerous. Now he told me he needs to do another cysto in 4 month's to see if lesions came back or new ones developed. I'm concerned that he wants to do another cysto so quickly.....I thought he could do a CT scan or MRI next but he wants to do a cysto.

He did the original cysto since my urine showed small trace of blood. and to check for bph. But I have no pain. Those abnormal cells could have been there for years as far as I know.

I'm thinking of getting a second opinion or a new urologist. I could see rechecking it in a year if I don't have symptoms but 4 month's concerns me. Anyone else have benign bladder lesions? Any opinions on doing another cysto in 4 months?

Those cells could have been there for years or they could be a recent development...you just dont know. your urologist wants to see if they come back quickly or new patches of atypical cells have developed. Ask him for his opinion about a scan or MRI. That may be the next step.
