Looking for opinions on what this might be

Hello,

Looking for some feedback/second opinions on a possible skin condition/issue on my penis head and right below. I have this tiny soft red pimple-like spot on my penis glans, been there a week. I have this white spot underneath the rim of the penis (been there for awhile now at least 3 months).

I had a similar red pimple/spot on the right side of my penis glans a few months back. Saw a dermatologist, he mentioned it was a sebaceous gland. It went away without me noticing.

I consulted a urologist regarding the white spot, he examined the area pretty thoroughly, and said it was nothing to worry about. Its been same size since I noticed it. It doesn't hurt or anything like that. I just notice any skin changes and go crazy about them.

Wondering if I should just stop obsessing or go back to the dermatologist for both?

About me:

I do use soaps when cleaning my penile area. I shower at least once a day. I often use a lot of hot water (trying to stop). I workout 6 days a week, mainly cardio. My penis head has def been feeling chaffed during making the cardio annoying (lately).

I've had ezcema for most my life (hands, ankles, below belly button, elbows)

I've not had a sexual encounter for a few years. I confirmed no std's as of last july (tested for chlamydia, gonorrhea, hiv). Prior to this I had a similar std test and included the hsv test, all came back negative. I had a brush with high risk hpv exposure from a female, but my doctors told me to not worry about it (as hard as it may be).

Thanks for re-posting your Forum Thread message.

When you have Eczema this means that your immune system has been compromised - while, very fortunately, you have no Eczema on your penis, you need to be careful not to irritate the skin in the head and upper shaft area of your penis.

So, soaps and shower gels and lotions are a must to keep away from this area of your penis. Also, as you recognise, hot water is not good either - quite warm is good enough. When you shower you need to spend some time ensuring that bodily cleansers you have used elsewhere on the body are thoroughly rinsed away as this is what is chaffing your skin. The skin of the human body was not intended to have hot water and a relative barrage of cleansers applied to it once, and sometimes twice a day - I would guess if you are showering after your workouts.

As you say, " My penis head has def been feeling chaffed during making the cardio annoying " - this process of overly drying out the skin on your penis will continue unless you take deliberate steps to help your penile skin. Once you start to help restore the natural balance of hydration in the skin of your upper-penis you will also stop irritating things like the glands that are there too.

Once you have this sorted and you put in place a much more 'penile skin friendly' showering regime the other thing you could look to use is a light application of liquid Coconut Oil straight after you have taken a shower. You only need do this 2 or 3 times a week, lightly massage the coconut oil in and this will help the hydration process - I would suggest you do this after 4 or 5 weeks of not using soaps and shower gels on your penis and the through rinsing process each time you shower - that way you should begin to notice the difference in your penile skin.

If there is anything else you want to check out with me then simply update your Forum Thread here .... if you try what I suggest and update after 5 or 6 weeks that would be good too .....

      @Wee_Dugie appreciate the response.

So neither spot concerns you? I've begun not using soap or anything on my head.

So just use warm water on the penis for 4-6 weeks, then try coconut oil?

      Thanks

In terms of your concerns about HPV you need to realise I have no medical training - my 'practical owners manual' comes from dealing with penile issues the whole of my adult life.

The only way to be sure is check with a Sexual Health Specialist for the reassurance you seek - so what I do know is that for Men who have issues like this that by implementing a a more skin friendly penile hygiene regime this often helps to reduce the irritation that causes these kinds of symptoms to become heightened to the point where they cannot be ignored .....

I have eczema on my hands also, and am always being told to avoid over washing the hands because water dries the skin and takes away natural oils and moisture. I've often wondered about this, I always see advice of keeping away soaps from penis (good advice of course!) and just using water.. Now would this not dry the penis skin out and potentially cause issue?
