Looking for some advice on back pain

Hi I am 18 years old and over the last week or two i have been getting some slight back pain during the day at work. Its not sharp pain or anything in fact i would probably its more discomfort than pain. But i am just wondering what i can do to stop this because i don't want it to develop into anything serious. I have recently started doing push-ups every few days in an attempt to increase my strength. So i don't know if that could be causing this?
I do work sat at a computer desk all day but i get out for about a half hour walk at lunch. And during the day i do go downstairs to get drinks and stuff, so i am not literally sat down all day.
The discomfort is mostly in my lower back but sometimes it is in other places.
I am not exactly sure what info you need so if you need any more feel free to ask.

Shake the pelvis can be very effective in reducing pain in the back. Knees touch the ground, his hands supporting the floor, keeping back flat, contract your abdominal muscles, and arched back, like being angry cat. Horizontal head and keep the back, then relax and return to the center and try to avoid your back straight while maintaining relax before.
Can strengthen this movement on his lower back and strengthen the back muscles, just do the following exercise, you can do it. Keep your back flat, bowed his head and began to straighten one leg. Feet and back to maintain a straight line, not too high, bend your knees, on the floor while the so head back to the center position. Repeat 6-8 times, then the other foot and repeat 6-8 times. Slight rocking motion of the leg.

Lower back pain is a common illness that most of us experience these days. In fact, 8 out of 10 people are suffering from it. There are various reasons as to why lower back pain occurs. It can be muscle strain, stress-related, or psychological. Since you spend a lot of time sitting in front of your computer, your iliopsoas muscles that connect your lumbar region and the top of your femur must have shortened, causing lower back pain. Most back pains don't need surgery. They can be improved with appropriate stretches and exercise. See this article for more information:

After reading your post and that link, it seems to me that you are saying that i don't really need to be worrying about this and that it is normal. Is that right?

How's your back now?
Lower back pain, although it's not usually serious, you still need to deal with the root cause of the pain because if you leave it unattended, it will develop into more pain and may be a serious medical condition. You can do stretches from time to time. Also, when you are lying on your back, put a pillow under your lower back instead of putting it behind your head. This may feel uncomfortable at first, but it'll be fine when you get used to it.

Well yesterday I decided to go back to doing push-ups so I did some stretches before and after but afterwards my back did hurt a bit more than usual but still not painful. And the pain went after about half an hour. However today when I got up from my desk to get a drink my back did hurt more than it had yesterday and it was the same when I went for a walk for about the first ten minutes.
so I am wondering if I made the wrong choice to go back to doing push-ups so should I be doing different exercises? What do you suggest I do?
However i do remember that i did change the chair i use at work about a week before i started experiencing this back pain, so when i go back in on monday i'm gonna go back to my old chair and see if that makes any difference.

It's been a while. How's your back now? Do you still do push ups?
Push-up is a good exercise, but sometimes we hurt our back in the process with improper executions. If the back pain persists, it will be good to have a check-up to rule out other possible conditions that may be detrimental to your health.

It has indeed been a while, i thought this thread had died.
But thanks for posting again and it's much better thanks. Now its only on odd days where i haven't been sitting in my chair at work properly all day or i've been washing dishes over the sink and then it will be a bit uncomfortable for a few hours or so but next day it's fine and like most days now it is fine.
And yes i'm still doing push ups do them 2 or 3 times a week now so don't know if that has helped but it hasn't done any harm.

Recently my back has been all fine but in the past week or two it has been going back to how it was before but strangely enough this happened when i had stopped doing push-ups for a week because i had a really busy week at work so i probably wasn't sitting properly either and then i went back to doing my push-ups.
Thursday evening i found some back strengthening stretches/exercises online so i decided to try them out and i guess they did the trick as my back was better on Friday.
I am wondering though in addition to my push-ups a couple times a week should i maybe start doing the exercises/stretches a couple times a week as well and is there anything else i could be doing instead??
I mean i am 99% confident that this pain is because is because i am now sitting down at a desk all day apart from at lunch for my half hour walk and getting up and making drinks during the day? So what else could i be doing to make this better?
Thank You
