Hi all, i have been having alot of trouble for quite awhile now, doctors still cant get to the bottom of itz id just like to see what people think of my blood levels..

Serum iron- 3 umol

Transferrin ibc- 59 umol

Transferrin saturation- 5 %

Serum ferritin assay- 296 ug/L

Haemoglobin- 146 g/L

Red cell- 4.9

Haematocrit- 0.43

Mean cell volume- 87 fL

Mean cell haemoglobin- 30 pg

Platelet- 230

White cell- 7.4

    First glance at your results I thought you had iron deficiency anaemia however your ferritin levels look normal. Have you recently had an iron infusion? If not it looks like it's not straight forward.

      Hey thanks for the reply, no i havnt had any transfusions or anything but i have had alot of blood tests done lately

      They were the latest results taken on 14/02/2017 and these are older results

      Iron studies 16/09/2016

      Serum- 25 umol/L

      Transferrin IBC- 57 umol/L

      transferrin saturation- 44%

      Serum assay- 181 ug/L

      14/10/2016

      Serum- 9 umol/L

      Transferrin IBC- 55 umol/L

      transferrin saturation- 16%

      Serum assay- 244 ug/L

      Full blood count.14/10/2016

      Haemoglobin- 143 g/L

      Red cell count- 4.7

      Haemotocrit- 0.41

      Mean cell volume- 88 fL

      Mean cell haemoglobin- 31 pg

      Platelet count- 171

      White cell count- 7.4

      Hi. I am not a doctor but it's looks like a diagnostic dilemma. Low iron should be accompanied by low Feritin but your ferritin is fine. No ranges have been included but the results seem to look fine. Hopefully you have been referred to a specialist?

      The doctors say that its fine and nothing to be to concerned about. But i am scheduled for a endoscopy and colonoscopy due to some blood found in stool samples.. i have most symptoms of being iron deficient but i have many other problems to go along with it
