Looking for some honest feedback on "potty" issues

Two questions

#1 for folks who have sudden urges in the middle of the night to 'P' have you found you were able to get to the potty in time?  Has anyone needed or used depends (adult diapers/pull-ups) during recovery?  Used a bedside commode?   If yes to any of these for how long?

#2 a little more embarrassing to ask but I've not seen anyone else discuss this.  How have folks been wiping their arse's if we are not supposed to bend?

Thanks hippies, heck if I cannot ask you who can I ask   LMSAO

Like you Kebra I had these worries.

Firstly I took the advise of a friend and only drank de-caf and backed that up with good old tena ladies just in case. Sitting on the edge of the toilet and leaning back helped me to clean myself.

My biggest problem was the first few days after the operation. I must have pee'd gallons and not being agile did not do well with the bed pan. I think the poor nurses were relieved when I could trot off to the toilet :-)

I'm 4.5weeks post op and back to the once nightly trip now.

    Hi Kebra,

    Thanks for making me laugh!

As far as going to 'P', I was able to get up from my bed and used the toilet with the help of a walker or crutches during the first few weeks, and used the high seat that I bought for the post op phase.

To answer your second question, I wasn't told that I couldn't twist to wipe.  You should be fine to do the samesmile
