Loose Stools in the Morning Only

Posted , 5 users are following.

For about 3 weeks now every morning when I wake up I have to get to the restroom for a BM. The first BM is usually pretty normal and then I will have about 3-4 more that are on the very loose side. After that I feel absolutly great the rest of the day.  I have spoke with my doctor about this and have recently been diagnosed with Generalized Anxeity Disorder. She did some basic lab work and that all came back fine.  I am a little worried that this may be IBS or IBD,(of course the anxiety ridden part of me is worried it could be Colon Cancer) but the doc is leaning to it being caused by anxiety.  Has anyone had any similar expeirences?

Hey Serene.  I am 28 I really dont feel like I have too many symptoms. Just when I wake up its time to go. An hour later its time to go this goes on for about 3 hours then I am good to go all day.

That's good to know that you have no other symptoms. I was also worried for colon cancer but it just worsened my symptoms. Even went for CT but all was normal.

More I'm mentally at ease, less the symptoms are. So I would suggest you to keep yourself more calm and relax and everything will come out The Best and healthy...

No Steve. All I can think of is that you may be eating too much fiber but I would suggest that you do a bit of research into symptoms related to frequent bowel movements. You might even be drinking too much water. Good luck 🍀

Did your doctor mention IBS? Anxiety and irritable bowel syndrome are linked.  If you have had tests and everything is negative, IBS can be diagnosed.  Do you get alternating constipation with loose stools, stomach pain, incomplete bowel movements and nausea?  Are you aware of any food triggers such as lactose, gluten and certain carbohydrates?  Some people with IBS can be intolerant to these things.  Symptoms can be mild, moderate or severe. Pain can come and go or be constant.  Everyone gets different symptoms and responds to treatment differently.

And that is why.......Phillippa that GPs put everything down to IBS and anxiety. It is only natural for anyone to be scared when something is wrong with their health. It took 7 years to get a hiatus hernia diagnosed and even on the first endoscopy they didn't even take a sample for H pylori. They couldn't even do a simple blood test for glandular fever and I am a medical secretary. That is why I suggest people do a lot of their own research. Regards Maggie

That's dreadful service; it's terrible we have to do our own research in a supposedly advanced health care.

That is the way the cookie crumbles Philippa. When a GP only has 10 mins to see a patient stomach problems are by their nature complicated. Maggie x
