The afternoon*
Hi I'm 18 and 5 weeks ago I thought I saw a streak of blood on my poo. After this I kept examining every single poo I had. I thought it happened again but on closer inspection it was just skin of a tomato I had with dinner the night before. I developed a sort of fear of going to the toilet incase I saw blood and tried forcing poos out to see if there was blood to put my mind at ease. Due to being a severe hypochondriac and instantly believing it to be something sinister such as bowel or rectal cancer, ever since I've examined every poo I've had, with no irregularities since. I have had no stomach pain or discomfort whatsoever.
2 weeks ago I had a loose poo. It was solid but had wispy edges to it. I started to have 1-2 more poos a day than normal. After this I started eating alot more fibre and drinking alot more water. This didnt help the issue. I then decreased the amount of fibre I ate. This stopped the wispy poos but made them alot smaller.
I then began to eat more fibre again, eating wheat cereals and fruit alot more. Ever since I have been having solid, sausage shaped poos in the morning and mid afternoon but having looser, wispier poos in the late afternoon and night with gas. Theyre not like diarrhea, they take some pushing but then come out all at once. Today I tested by not eating as much fibre as usually, with the same outcome. Solid poos in the morning and wispier, looser ones in the late afternoon. I just wanted to know if this is something I should be concerned about and if I should see a GP. Typing it out now it sounds like something to do with my diet but theres constantly something in the back of my head telling me it it something serious. I know GP,s busy at the moment and do not want to waste their for something possibly minor that my hypochondria has blown out of proportion in my head. thanks
Note: As I am still working at the moment, my diet changes from day to day. Some days I eat completely clean but others I eat more high fat and sugary foods. I wasnt sure if this could play a part in my inconsistent poo textures.
