Loratadine Spaced Out

Posted , 3 users are following.

Hi all. I've been taking loratadine for a few weeks now, 10mg. I've noticed I'm feeling a bit kind of spaced out frequently now, does anyone recognise this as an effect of loratadine?

It is supposed to be non drowsy but can still cause drowsiness in some people, that would explain the 'spaced out' feeling.  I had it with a different anti histamine, that was also supposed to be non drowsy.

If it continues, you could go back to the prescriber and ask for something different.

Yes tried this again, as could not remember why I stopped this one. Lorattidine (Claritin) used this for a few days now,  and feel listless, no energy. So will go back on Benedryl. Some of these antihestamines still make you feel contested. I have also tried Cetrizine Hydrocloride, and these caused congestion. I found Fexofenidine did not kick in quickly and took ages to stop the runny nose. Benedryl with Acrivistine I have found ok but you have to take three a day, so expensive.  Would like to find own that ticks all the boxes. I hope you will find some help too.

My daughter uses Zirtek with no adverse effects.  Personally,  I didn't find it helpful.
