Losartan / blood pressure

Last year I had a blood pressure drop 60/40 which I was taken by ambulance to the hospital. happened again once there.
almost a year later needed bypass quadruple(4 weeks ago). Week after bypass, home doing well and blood pressure drop again 62/40, again hospital tests found nothing wrong with me to cause it. Have had a cough for a few years and read the Lisinipril I was taking caused cough and blood pressure drops.
Yesterday doctor put me on Losartan 50 mg. Blood pressure today is the same as yesterday on Lisiniprill
153/95
No idea if this med should be helping me after 2 doses or not.
really scary for me. any ideas would be helpful

I think most doctors will tell you to wait for a week, but I think it "should" work the same day. However, sometimes waiting helps. Other times it takes another drug to help, especially a diuretic.
Your BP numbers are not scary high (especially if you're over age 60) for a few days or even weeks so no need to panic, but you do want to make some progress before too much time goes by.

Give it a few days to get into your system. Losartan is the only one that does not give me side effects and have taken it for at least 15 years.
Lisinopril caused my lips and throat to swell up.

just noticed your post and I am the same i get some side effects but I can live with them on Losarton but others (I tried 6 before )gave me awful side effects and as i said some made my BP go higher!
Maybe some people are just more sensitive to anything foreign in their bodies.

I get a slight under my skin itch with Losartan. It went when I switched to different one for a while.

yes i get that too sometimes as well as feeling heavy in my legs and had trouble sleeping however a new Dr. told me to take it before i go to sleep and this has i think lessened the dizzy and tiredness during the day

I am an insomniac but I don't put that down to Losartan. I take 12.5 mg in the morning and at night.

HI THOUGHT I WOULD RESPOND I have been on LOSARTON Potassium 50 mg also for 2 doses but on 25 mg for 2 1/2 months and it didnt bring my bp down enough.
My experience with BP MEDS IS that some i took made my BP go higher . so keep a check on yours as it seems the up down pressure is similar to what I had. SO are the drops caused by a blockage ?? MINE ONCE WENT TO 90/0 and had to go by ambulance then finally it shot up again to 215/100 but then they sent me home finding nothing? After giving me atenalol which brings the bp down quite quickly.
I will get back to you after I am on losarton potassium for a bit and see whether it is lowering or making it worse.

When having a colonoscopy some years ago my BP went down to 40/29 and heart rate 30b pm.
I had been watching the procedure on the screen and then glanced at the monitor with my BP etc. on it and saw it was 40/29 and heart rate 30 bpm. With a mask over my face it was difficult to speak And I thought they had better notice it soon. Suddenly there was panic in the room and they started pumping drugs into me. It slowly went back to normal but next day I realised I was in AF. The probe had stimulated my vagus nerve.
