Losartan/dry mouth

Does anyone out there on Losartan (25mg) have a very dry mouth caused by lack of saliva? Also a feeling that the skin was coming off the inside of my mouth. My dentist says this may be caused by Losartan and it might result in gum disease. Anybody with the same symptoms?

I have exactly the same symptoms with this drug. I get dry mouth and small sores right inside my lips. I have tried all kinds of things to help remedy it including a specialist that told me it may be a food alergy to my dentist who was not sure. I have stopped taking this drug 5 days ago and have contacted my doctor. Did you find out if it was lasartan causing it?

I have been experiencing a variety of symptoms for some time and explaiing them as something else. For certain I have had dryness of mouth and the feeling that my throat is closing off. Based on the side effects I am starting to think that Losartan is the culprit. I plan to discontinue for now and follow up with my doctor. Since it takes up to three weeks to be therpeutic I am assuming it does not instantly leave the system.

One additional thing. The roof of my mouth feels rough. I do not believe most of this is so much the lack of saliva as much as overall skin issue. I have notice some of my skin (hands and forhead) feel much like the roof of my mouth without the saliva.
