Hi guys, I've been on sertraline for 5 years now .

I recently upped my dose from 150mg to 200mg. The reason I did this is because I recently felt terrible . My anxiety and depression is off the chart , it's been 10 days and no improvement . Can anyone help ?

It can take a couple of months to really see an improvement. I'm on 200 mg and I'm certainly much better than I was, although I still have down days. You have to deal with the underlying causes. Patience is needed. I'm sure you will feel better if you give it time.

I was given some diazepine to help but I'm scared I'll become dependent on it

ask your GP for Lorazepam instead of Diazepam. Its a magic bullet for anxiety for emergency use. Needs to be used sparingly as you can become tolerant/addicted after 3-4 weeks use like Diazepam.

How long have you been on 200 Avril? Do you feel mostly yourself now? I have been on 200 for 1 week only but 14 weeks in total on Sert for severe depression.

      Hi

I've been on 200 mg since August.

It look at least a month before I felt much improvement and it was gradual. I suffered from intermittent vomiting, severe anxiety and OCD.

I still have anxiety and OCD but at lower levels and there are times I have felt quite good.

It gives me hope... When I was on 150 I felt 50-60% myself so I hope I am at least 80% with 200 and enjoying my life again.... x
