Losing weight.

I'm currently in the process of losing weight. I am 66 kgs at 5"1. I have already lost 10 kg, but I feel as if my arms have not changed at all.

I don't do much exercise as I'm always busy doing university coursework.

I was wondering if my arms will get slimmer with only a balanced diet or will I have to start doing exercise to lose weight on my arms?

I'm 2 months post op and have lost a lot of weight in my arms. Following advice from another blog, I started doing a short program of upper body free weights before the surgery and am still doing them now--three times a week.

I started with 2lbs, then 3lbs, then 5lb hand weights. I do 5 different lifts, 15 reps each. I won't increase the number of reps, but would eventually like to get to 2 sets of 15 for each lift.

The 5 lifts are straight out of a printed list that was given to me by someone who had been in a cardiac rehab program. They may not be the best, but they seem to be working.

I don't know that it's the exercises that are helping or if it's the diet, but they don't take up much time or expense, so I'll keep doing them.

Although my arms are thinner and some clothes that used to be tight in the arms are now loose, I still have to contend with saggy loose skin when I raise my arms. I will probably consider an arm lift after I lose all the weight, depending on how much they cost.

I did do exercise for a few weeks about a month ago but I always seem to forget about it after a while. I don't want to lose weight and have saggy arm skin as I'm only 18. Do you think that could happen if I continue not to do exercise?

To be honest, I think you will have some loose skin no matter what you do.. But my guess is that if you exercise, the new muscle would replace some of the fat and there will be less sag. But I am totally unqualified to give an official answer. I hope someone more knowledgeable weighs in!
