Loss of appetite and ear infection. Help!

Hi everyone,

I'm new here so I'm not sure if I'm doing all of this right but please let me know if im rule breaking or anything!

I was diagnosed with a bad ear infection in both ears on Tuesday after being unwell for a few days. I've been on amoxicillin 500mg 3 times a day since then.

All week I've been finding it hard to eat and it's just getting worse. I've ask had mild diarrhea on and off (more on) for about 3 weeks and am losing weight due to it. I am at a point now after feeling poorly for a week where I'm exhausted and just struggling to have an appetite and get anything down me. Yesterday I managed a banana in the morning and 2 slices of toast at bedtime.

Is this normal?

And any advice or tips would be very much welcome. Thank you!

I had an ear infection last year, I know how you are feeling I was just the same as you. I  was told I got a viral infection, no appetite and very poorly, I was seeing a lot of Doctor's was told viral lethargy and labyrinthitine dysfunction.   All I can say just rest and see your Doctor again to keep an eye on your ears, when you start to feel a bit better just go for short walks, but cover your ears.

Thank you! It's so reassuring to know your experience was the same. I had no idea how much trouble an ear infection could cause. I really hoped to be feeling fine by now but it's just dragging! Definitely sick of the congestion and exhaustion at this point.

Unusual to get an infection in both ears same time. Where did it come from? My guess is acid reflux and that is what should be treated. Not the results and symptoms of it. I had a similar problem and got rid by taking live probiotics for a while.
