hi everyone!

just looking some reassurance to see if anyone has experienced this before with anxiety! i do suffer bad with anxiety but it can come and go and recently i was having more good days than bad which was great! In the last week i have had a loss of appetite and alot of hot flushes! At first i thought i was maybe coming down with something like a cold but a week later i know its not that as i have no symptoms of a cold. I have been experiencing the hot flushes on and off throughout the day and iv woke up a few times around midnight feeling like my face is on fire but i have no fever and my heart racing and sometimes my hands and feet would be cold but i feel very flushed everywhere else...wondering if anyone has experienced this and how to deal with it? i do overthink alot due to my anxiety which is most likely causing my heart to race a little more

thank you

    Hello,

Yes, hot flushes can be a symptom of anxiety. Also if you are around peri age it can be that. I have experienced what you are describing and whenever I get them I run my wrists under cold water and that quickly brings that burning feeling down.

However, if you have not had a physical check-up recently it might be a good idea to go to the doc and get a quick check-up. If you have already done that, then it probably is nice old anxiety.

    Good luck x

hello! i just saw your post and i wanted to say that the hot flushes and the racing heart are symptoms of anxiety. I was diagnosed with panic disorder 3 years ago back in 2019 which was by far the worst year of my life. It seemed that during that period my anxiety would manifest in every single physical symptom you could imagine, including dizziness, racing heart, visual disturbances, hot flushes, nausea, and loss of apetite to name a few. What i learned is that its sometimes very hard to believe that our minds can create so many physical symptoms and i always second guessed the doctors when they told me it was my anxiety but it turns out they were right. I'm very sorry to hear that you're going through this but i want you to know that it will get better and these symptoms will subside. I remember on that period i didn't think i would ever feel normal again but here i am and i can tell you that this will pass. Our minds and bodies are connected and anxiety 1000% can also manifest in physical ways.

stay steong and i'm here if you need anything

yes I’ve had all of those sensations many times. sounds like you’re having a bout with anxiety. which causes adrenaline to be released and this causes racing heart, The flushed feeling, overthinking and generalized anxiety. This is this is very common with anxiety! Practice proper breathing for anxiety which is very important to help manage all of this. You can find many breathing exercises on YouTube.. It really does slow the heart rate down.

overthinking can bring all of this on so practice with some present moment meditations that keep you away from worrying about things.

I had to get tough with myself so the minute I started over thinking I would refocus my thinking to positive things. The more you do it the easier it gets. You can have a thought but just don’t follow it if it’s negative. Practice this over and over again. I have a virtual counseling once a week which is very helpful. Take care
