Hi Sarah,
Not unusual to lose libido as we go into menopause. Not sure if your into hormone replacement but testosterone works very well. I'm 60 and I know its brought my intimacy back to life. I get it through pellet therapy through my holistic dr along with estrogen. Been on it for 5 years with no issues.

sarah,
You might be able to get some form through your regular dr but be advised a lot of docs just are not well versed in this part of women's life. If you have access to a compounding pharmacy that your dr could prescribed bio identical creams through, that's what I did first before pellets. I wouldn't take anything synthetic. Unfortunately a good dr is so important in getting it right. They will run regular lab work etc . Maybe once your back to work you can look into a alternative dr to help. I'm in the states and my insurance doesn't cover holistic or my pellets. I have found it to be a great investment for my health and happiness.

sarah,
I hear ya on being nervous about HRT . Believe me, I was a person that didn't like to take anything, not even for headaches. The steady decline in important hormones that occurs in peri and really ramps up in menopause is what got me doing lots of research on hrt. My life I once enjoyed was slipping away. I didn't like how I felt, didn't like the changes I was seeing on my body either. For me it was what quality of life do I want from here on forward. Good luck in your journey.
