Loss of smell through my sinus problems

Has anyone else lost their sence of smell due to this sinus condition. I really miss not being able to smell, what I am cooking, or the smell of Honeysuckle in the early evening. I only noticed it late last year, I just thought everything in the garden was not producing the scents that I enjoyed. I started getting Hay fever in April 2013 which carried on throughout the year. I thought my holiday in Cyprus would give me a break from the taking of Antihestamine. I realise I have ongoing Ryhinitis. Has anyone else had this problem, and had it restored. I am hopeful it will return.

    Hi

Im also having loss of smell and taste. But just after surgery I had the flu and my surgeon thinks it has nothing to do with the sinus surgery

However this is week 5 and still no improvement:-(

It is not until you loose the sence of smell, you know how much it means to you. I do not taste everything either, tea and coffee is not something I enjoy anymore. Some people do loose  thier sence of smell I have read on the internet.

Same here. It is dangerous because I am 80 years old and Be vigilant I can't smell burning, hear crackling or notice smoke. Mercifully I have a wireless fire alarm and as I live next door to a fire station they usually pop round cheerfully before things get too out of hand.  But last  time my hair caught fire and my hand was burnt before they arrived. Oh dear. Very oops!  Be vigilant!
