LOSS OF TASTE CAUSED BY TERBINAFINE (LAMISIL) TABLETS

During May 2021, I was prescribed TERBINAFINE tablets for a toenail infection. After about 3 or 4 weeks I noticed that I had lost virtually all sense of taste. I consulted my GP and an ENT surgeon neither of whom found a cause. Online, I found the rare side effect of the drug. The GP agreed that I should stop drug and I have done so - for two weeks now. I am nearly 89. I am wondering if anyone has any reassuring up-to-date information for me - perhaps, even, a remedy. The loss of taste is awful !

    hello i am almost 2 weeks into stopping medication due to taste loss (took medication for 6 weeks). did your taste return? how long did it take, i have no taste when i eat bit have a constant salty/metallic taste in my mouth 24/7 its awful and hoping for some encouragment.
