Lost cause 😢...help...advice

Had my dosage increased 2 days ago and now I'm back to getting intrusive thoughts increased anxiety and crying. I thought this should all have passed by now I'm in my 4th week. Doc wouldn't prescribe me with a benzos to help because I'm already on alot of Medication. He also would not recommend benzos because of how addictive they are bla bla bla.
Am I still early days on sertraline? I'm on 150mg. I have my cbt today but I am not pushed on going because I cannot take anything on board. Feel like I'm throwing €70 away each time.

Hey ger
Remember each time you increase you'll get a few side effects each time no matter how far along you are. Stick with it! It will level out again in a few more days! I've just increased and my anxiety is so high again!!
And try and stick with the CBT. I can't tell you how much it helped me. You may feel like it's a waste but it will be going in.
Chin up and be really strong! You can do this!

hi ger, yes you are still in early days, and no, you are not a lost cause
you are getting increased anxiety from the dose increase because the sertraline is getting to work on you. this is actually a good thing, it means you are not one of those rare cases where medication doesnt seem to help. sertraline needs time to settle down and your body/head to adjust to it. it can take several weeks, but dont worry, you are already probably about half way through that anyway, so you dont have long to wait now. i know you feel like absolute crap and going through hell, but you just need to keep going ok. it's such a good feeling when you finally start to feel better after suffering for so long. you'll be fine, you really will ok

hey, it's ok because serotonin changes inside you affect mood and social behavior, appetite and digestion, sleep, memory and sexual desire and function.. so until sertraline has had time to settle in and for you to adjust, you experience side effects geared around these areas, eg. loss of appetite etc
you will be ok once you find the right dose for you, and have had adequate time to adjust. try not to give your side effects any attention and worry; they will settle down and you will then feel a lot better

Did you go from 100mg to 150mg? I find if I go up by 25mg I have a lot less side effects and it makes it so much more bareable! Last time I went from 50mg to 75mg to 100mg to 125mg. His time around I started at 50mg and I'm currently on 75mg, but bumping up to 100mg in a few days! Good luck!

Every time I increase, my intrusive thoughts come at me like a freight train. Even though you're on your 4th week, you're only on day 2 of your new dose. It will pass.

It's hard to tell if I do because of the meds because I have Graves' disease and tremors go with that.
