Lots of blood!!!!

I think I have my first period. I did have one day of bleeding 2 weeks ago. It's 12 weeks since I had my baby but the blood flow is unreal is this normal with prolapse. I'm just concerned as m having to weara pad the same size as when I have birth there's no clots from what I can see. I'm assuming it is my period as i know bleeding is common sympton with a prolapse but surely not this much. I'm booking an appointment for doc again next week as i am still waiting for my referral for gyno to discuss the prolapse further. But just wondered if anyone else s had this problem?? Thanks in advance

A prolapse shouldn't affect your periods because it isn't hormone related.

Thanks I'm hoping its just a heavy period! As its my first.

It could well be because it's your first period after your operation. That can happen and I don't think there's anything to worry about. I don't know how old you are but often heavy periods occur around the time of the menopause.

I'm only 33 and do u mean operation for prolapse. As I haven't had surgery for my prolapse. I'm trying to lose weight eat healthier and exercise more would any of these factors effect me maybe.

I have read that extreme exercise can throw our cycle and also bring overweight. Mayron masmasy not agree but I definitely think our mind and body are in sync with each other. Like with me the stress made me loose wright therefore my poetiods stopped for 3months and were never the same after that. I really wouldn't worry to much but if its continues for longer than a few days I'd visit your gp.x

So sorry hannah I misunderstood, I thought you'd had surgery. I've read your question again and noticed it's only 12 weeks since you had your lovely baby so your hormones will be all over the place at the moment in fact your menstrual cycle may change to what it was before you got pregnant. A prolapse won't affect your periods.

My instinct tells me that as its your first period you have a build up and its your bodies way of clearing out.x

Your periods are affected by hormones and surgery can't affect them in that way.

Yes matron that's what I meant. As its her first period her hormones seem unbalanced. May be she has been a bit stressed or worried. That will affect periods as our emotions affect our hormones. I went into early menopause due to stress and major weight loss when I emergratef to Canada. X

I think there's a lot of misunderstanding about periods and what can affect them. Anyone who is medically trained or has nursing experience know that a lot of problems with periods are exaggerated. Periods are regulated by 2 female hormones and not altered by emotions. There's been a lot of research looking into this as well and I think you probably went into an early menopause because of weight loss rather than stress.

The stress set of the weight loss matron. in my case. So yes it was the weight loss.

Thank u I did have a period a lot quicker with my first child and I haven't breast fed so did think 12 weeks was quite a long time to wait. Hoping it will calm down maybe it's a normal heavy flow I was just always lucky with light flow before!x
