Lots of weird symptoms over last few months.

Hi folks.

Any help appreciated.

Last 2 months or so been feeling like crap.

Shattered.

Can’t hack the cold.

constipation / diarrhoea

depression

Sore muscles.

No real appetite

Weird nervy crap in my arm and hands.

And think it’s related to my hair being thin and falling out or I’m just starting to going bald lol

Google seems to think it could be my thyroid and I’m seeing my proper GP on Monday. What can I expect? I did see a locum about a month ago but she was less than useless. ‘Maybe you’re just feeling the cold more as it’s been really cold’ 🙄. If I report these symptoms any GP worth his salt should order a battery of blood tests? And if not ask for them? I don’t want to say I have been googling as then I will look like a hypochondriac.

Thanks for any help

Chris

Get tested, whatever it take. Good luck! These days, googling does not make you look like a hypochondriac.

Googling doesn't make you look like a hypochondriac but it does make you think you've got a dozen deadly deseases ! See your doc! I've had hypothyroidism for the last 10 years. I had the same symptoms you've described. The biggest clue for my doc was being cold most of the time and people around me felt fine. She immediately ran thyroid test and it tested low. So don't despair.

Hey, I had the same symptoms except I gained weight, felt  tired all the time and started forgetting things. My doc couldn’t pin point it until she ran a few basic blood tests and sure enough I tested pos.  for hypothyroidism. If u think they will hesitate just say u think there’s thyroid problems in the family? Some docs won’t perk their ears up till u say something of the sort

    Chris,

It sounds exactly what I was feeling before I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I suggest you request blood work to test for hypo or hyperthyroidism . Do you have an encronologist ?? Hope this helps

It could be hypothyroidism or it could be something else, as many other conditions cause the same symptoms that are similar to hypothyroidism.  You'll have to get tested to know for sure.  While your at it, get your Vitamin D tested also, as Vitamin D deficiency is very common these days and can cause all the symptoms you stated.  Best wishes...

    Thanks for the replies folks.

My GP must know his stuff. Only got telling him 2 symptoms and he said that could be your thyroid. So sent for a battery of blood tests. Get the results over the next couple of days.

Since Friday though I have been getting like palpitations and anytime I have to take the stairs I’ve felt breathless so he checked my pulse and oxygen levels. Oxygen levels are fine and my pulse is slightly elevated but I said to him that could be cuz I had to walk to the surgery in the snow and ice. Would those symptoms have anything to do with my thyroid if it’s is my thyroid that’s causing the issues?

    Thanks
