Loud humming sound in my ear since Friday, can a cold virus cause this?

I have an annoying sound in my ear, it's a humming sound that goes loud when I hear sounds like rain or talking, and sounds like talking sound robotic and far, it started mildly last Friday gone worse over the weekend.

Last Wednesday, I had someone in to do some work on the house I noticed when he started talking to me he had a cold or something.

So, I'm beginning to wonder if I've caught the cold.

My nose was blocked and was feeling a bit chesty last Thursday night, woke up the next morning with just a mild humming sound which has gone louder over the weekend, I do feel mildly sore inside my nose and had a mild fever the other weekend.

I was born deaf on one ear, not sure if this is a cold virus or I'm going deaf or something.
