Low ACTH, but normal cortisol levels

Posted , 2 users are following.

I have thyroid nodules and a pituitary tumor and so I get all kinds of blood tests to check for my hormone levels. I've had low ACTH levels (meaning they were under the lowest number on the normal range), but my cortisol levels have been normal each time. I'm curious if anyone else has had such low ACTH consistently with normal cortisol levels. My doctor is puzzled but isn't concerned since the cortisol is fine.

how do how feel? if you have Cushings or high cortisol symptoms you could be cyclic cushings. i would have them do a dexamethasone test for accurate cortisol in the am. i was high but regular blood test showed normal and i had low ACTH. I had an adrenal tumor causing Cushing symptoms.
