Low dose naltrexone

I wonder if anyone has been prescribed this? Apparently there is some evidence that it has is beneficial for pain and energy. I have recently started it, too early to tell.

Does anyone else have anything to add re this? I would be interested to hear your stories.

    Hi Charlie 19,

I've been using LDN for about 4 months now. I started at 0.50 and so far have titrated up to 2.0. it has been an absolute miracle for me. I have CFS, chronic pain, hashimoto's, fibromyalgia, depression, anxiety, a lot of gut issues and debilitating insomnia. I've taken so many medications that didn't help and gave me horrible side effects, such as Dilaudid, gabapentin, Lyrica. Since I started LDN and changed my diet ( no grains, gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, corn,) I also combine the AIP protocol and the low FODMAP diet for SIBO. All my symptoms have improved including my thyroid labs and antibodies. For most people there sleep is greatly improved but it has not helped me with my sleep. Even though I'm not sleeping better I don't feel quite as exhausted and everything else has gotten better including my mood.

yes i have been researching it too and it seems a lot of success stories . some say causes insomnia which is a no-no for me however i guess you start at a very low dose . also what the 'filler' is seems to be important too . lots to learn about this drug .

Lori, Absolutely it's worth a try most people find it helps there insomnia. you can take it in the morning if you find it problematic.

it is a incredibly safe drug. There is a great book called (The LDN Book) and YouTube videos from Dr. Bahari the Dr that discovered using Naltrexone in low doses.

So been taking this for almost 3 weeks and to be honest nothing to report, although it has conincided with a sort of crash...I hope to hell there is no connection. I am meant to increase the dose in a few days time.

At this stage I have taken one 1.5mg per day for past 2 weeks....I am meant to start twice amount for the next two weeks then up to 3 a day after that. However I have had a physical setback during this period. I have no idea if there is a connection. To early to tell. Interesting that people in this thread have labelled it a safe drug.
