Low function gallbladder - digestive help

Posted , 5 users are following.

Hello,

As the title reads - I was diagnosed via HIDA scan with a very low functioning gallbladder (5%). I have no pain but have daily loose pale stools - usually a very light brown, smelly and hard to wipe away fully. Also about 2-3 movements per day usually in the morning. Its frustrating combined with gas I generally get in the late night / early morning.

A stool sample confirmed I have slightly elevated fat in my stool I'm assuming due to lack of bile. No stones and as I'm only 25 I'm wary of taking it out. Any suggestions to improve my symptoms? Probiotic and digestive enzyme have done little to nothing. I just want solid stool again rolleyes

Hello dear I'm having the same problem as you except I keep getting leakage which is very embarrassing. I'm thinking of taking some Imodium as I have an appointment early tomorrow to have a procedure done. I'm so embarrassed I don't know what to do, what have you tried apart from probiotic which I have taken too.

I WOULD TAKE IMMODIUM FOR DEFINATE. AND CERTAINLY ANY FOOD THAT YOU KNOW OF THE BINDS YOU. YOU COULD ALWAYS GOOGLE WHAT FOODS MAKE YOU CONSTIPATED.

SORRY I WAS SO QUICK TO REPLY YESTERDAY. I HAD A VISITOR ARRIVE. JUST TO SAY I HOPE THAT YOUR  APPOINTMENT GOES WELL TODAY AND THAT THE IMMODIUM WORKED FOR YOU. I DID GOOGLE MYSELF WHAT MAKES YOU CONSTIPATED AND IT CAME UP WITH LOTS OF DAIRY PRODUCTS WHICH I WOULD NOT TAKE AS THEY ARE FULL OF FAT. I DO MYSELF EAT A LOT OF SCRAMBLED EGGS BUT I DONT PUT ANY BUTTER IN THEM SO THEY SHOULD BE OKAY FOR YOU. GOOD LUCK AND KEEP IN TOUCH LETTING US KNOW HOW YOU GET ON. AND ALSO IT MAY HELP MELOCOTONES AS WELL AS SHE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. SO HOPE ALL GOES WELL WITH THE IMMODIUM. IT DOES WORK.❤️🙏💐XXX

In terms of food to help bind I think it's eating things like white bread, rices, pasta.  So staying away from anything whole wheat.  I remember doing that before my gallbladder removal.  Good luck to you all.

how are you getting on melocotones? how is the bowel movement at the moment. have you found anything that can stop the loose stooles.did you try immodium? i do hope things are better for you in that department. its great that you have no pain. but still those loose stools sound really horrible for you and it must be frightening to go out the house incase you get an attack.im the opposite. i get constipation. i do hope you feel better and have found immodium to be of value for you. if not then i would go to the docctor and get something stronger as its no life this, having the runs all the time and not being able to go out. keep in touch and let us know if you find anything that help you.all the very best dear. ❤️🌺
