Low Haemoglobin

I have just returned from hospital where I was to have my second venesection, but when the result of the blood test came through, ( while I waited ) I was told my haemoglobin was too low and I would have to come back next week and hope my body had recovered. The haemoglobin reading was 120 and it needed ideally to be 140 or at the very least 125.

These figures mean nothing to me, so I wondered if this is something anyone else had experienced.

Had my 7th venesection this morning, and my HB had gone up to 129, so for me I seem to be benefiting from having a 3 week gap between, giving my body a chance to recover.

I see the haematologist on the 8th January, 4 months after seeing him before starting the treatment.... can't believe that time has past so quickly..

I wish you all a very Happy Christmas and hope you are coping well with this horrid disease. Let's hope 2018 sees us all much improved!
