Low iron: don't know how much to take daily

Hello all,

Hoping to get some answers here that may assist me. I am new to the site. I started having tingling in my hands then feet and it's been going on for about six weeks now. Not sure if it has anything to do with my iron but read that low iron can cause tingling in the body. I had my iron checked and two levels were normal but the total iron was at 16% which the normal range is 20-50 I think. I had anemia due to fibroids 4 years ago, and had an iron infusion after the procedure to remove them. However, I did not keep up on my iron supplements afterwards. I was told to take SlowFe. Now years later it's 16%. I am in the middle of insurance and don't have a primary care doctor, but am going to the OBGYN next week who prescribed me the SlowFe and did the infusion years ago. Any recommendations on how much someone with total iron at 16% should be taking daily? So far I have been taking 25-30mg/daily for the past 2 weeks or so. But the tingling is still there and not sure if it's even from the iron being low. My vitamin E is borderline low and vitamin D is low as well. My vitamin B6 is not high but only point-something away from where the high number starts so I stopped taking it a couple days ago, as I read high vitaminb6 can cause tingling as well. Any input is appreciated. Thanks
