Low kidney function test 38%

at the moment in waiting to see a gastro consultant as I'm on 60mg lansoprazole, 150mg ranitidine plus peptic liquid, I'm feeling unwell pain and stinging around right ribs feels like an ulcer or hernia but had a scan a month ago, also have bitter taste in my mouth terrible pains yesterday all around chest and back plus stinging.  I feel weak and I'm worried about my kidney function being so low I've to repeat bloods in a months time. The bones in my chest are sore, I've read these Medes for reflux can cause kidney problems..   Regards

    It is true that lansoprazole is bad for the kidneys.  I would bring this up when you see your doctor.  THe taste in your mouth could also be a sign of kidney disease.  Metallic taste is a side effect when you have advanced kidney disease.  Kidney funtion at 38% means your at stage 3 kidney disease.  I am not sure if yours is a temporary or permanenant kidney problem.  But if you have some kind of infection or problem you do need to get it fixed so it won't cause a permanant kidney problem.  Did they tell you what kind of kidney problem it was?

    Hi, no my doctor hasn't seen me since. Had my blood test, just left a message for me to repeat in a months time.  The pains start in my chest and back about late afternoon.  I am worried as I'm not feeling well, my appointment with the gastro consultant isn't until the 10 Nov, I feel like I've waited ages.  Thank you for your comments it's very helpful.  Regards Sandra

      The pain in your chest and back don't sound like kidney related if that helps.  Hope things get better soon.

    I've mentioned this numerous times regarding Kidney Issues because it's Very Unique and Misdiagnosed 99.999% of the time ... NEPHROPTOSIS aka Floating Kidney ... I suffered for 7 Years and my Ribs / Spine were On Fire most of that time. Please look into it and Understand Nerve Damage is a Horrible Symptom (from the Pulling of the Kidney)

    Many Systems are Damaged as a Side Effect Vs. The Diagnosis (Contrary to What Specialists Believe 😉)
