Low Libido or non exisitant

Hi all,

I have been on this meds for nearly 6 months.

I barely have no sex drive, and if I do get in the mood I suddenly switch off and have no interest.

It's really really frustrating and wondering if this will eventually go away or i will need to reduce the dose or come off it all together.

I used to get this with citalopram but this time it's much worse.

I am just starting my 6th week. No change in libido, but after a couple weeks I did notice some differences in my orgasms. Since then though they seem to be mostly back to normal. How long into it did the libido issues begin? I am on 20 mg. I love how it's helped my anxiety issues. So far its been life changing.

I've read that some docs can prescribe aids to libido like Wellbutrin, Viagra, etc. Worth a try if the prozac is helping your other issues.

Low libido has been my only true complaint for being on antidepressants. i have experimented with different meds and I am on 5 mg of Lexapro a day currently.. I am fortunate to not have a severe case of anxiety or depression, I am ironically taking it more for Gastro intestinal issues, but I noticed with the 5 mg of Lexapro I do still have sexual interest. With the other medications, I had no sexual desire at all. though I felt very up-beat and motivated on the Fluxotine (Prozac), it is notorious for its side effects, sexual dysfunction being number one. I tried Viibryd and Trintellix (excuse spelling). They both have fewer sexual side effects, so they may be something to consider. The only reason I have not stuck with one of them is because, since my main problem is Gastro intestinal, they made those symptoms much worse for me.

another thing which was recommended, was pairing the antidepressant with Wellbutrin- Coincidentally, this antidepressant actually increases sexual interest. I hope this helps.
