Low lymphocytes

Posted , 2 users are following.

My 3 and a half year old had a lymphocyte level of 3.1 nl. 6 months ago it was also low at 3.2 nl. Is this actually low? It says it's out of the normal range on the path form. However when I look at what's normal online for her age group it it says that 3000 microlitres is normal. What does this equal in nl measurements? I am confused with the measurements.

The Lymphocyte count is only truly low, if the it's the Absolute count and also the White blood cell count will have to be low also.  Otherwise it's nothing to worry about..

Yes the wcc is normal. The lymphocytes are the only low one. It's 3.1 nl. Is this significantly low?

No... nothing to worry about.  Only when they are low enough to cause a low WBC, is when it should be monitored.   Mine lymphocytes at this time are 1.78 and is nothing to worry about, so 3.1 is fine.  The average normal range is 0.8 to 4.8.
