Hello Peri Sistahs,
I have a question for you lovely ladies. I recently went down from 10mg to 5mg of Lexapro. Just to give some insight, I was extremely symptomatic on 10 mg which is why I decided to go down. I have experienced crying, anxiety, foggy head, abdominal cramping, nausea, dizzinss and overall nervousness. Ive experienced these symptoms for the last year or so-worsen 7-9 days before my period. I'm having a difficult time figuring out if its the decrease in the Lexapro or hormonal? Or maybe a combination being that i had these symptoms before the decrease in dosage.
Any insight would be helpful. (43 y/o with regular cycles).
Thank you,
P

Hello pnp . I find that a week before my period i sometimes feel the worst. 12 days before our period we start ovulating. Currently i am in that time frame and having symptoms of slight dizziness, and head pressure. I've learned over the yrs to accept the madness. Just try to relax and ride it through and know that you are not alone.

Hi Hopeforever,
It's so tiring, always trying to manage these symptoms. I too get dizziness etc around the time of ovulation. I have a period tracker app called Flo that I use to track hormones/periods. So far, the app has been pretty accurate. Like now, I'm die to start my period in 8 days. Based on the app, both progesterone and estrogen are rising. Makes me wonder if the estrogen and progesterone are being released in the appropriate amounts. Everytime I have hormonal shift, I become symptomatic.
Thanks for sharing!

Mine is due in 9 days . Things do get alot better with yrs. In the beginning stages i was bombarded with symptoms right before my period, similar to what you are having. Five yrs in i find that things are much better. I've learned to cope and tell myself " its just bloody hormones. Are you in the beginning stages ?

Have you researched supplements to help? Evening Primrose Oil really has helped me, exercise and drinking ALOT of water!

Hey there PNP,
Sounds hormonal to me. I have had the same symptoms but they seem all over the place here. Mine started around 38 to 39. It seems to me now that around my ovulation, I lose my temper a little easier and right before my period I get weepy. Really hard time (I'm 43 and it seems to be getting some better).

Hello P-NP,
I experience some of the same symptoms a week/week and a half before my period - dizziness, nausea, nervousness, and tinnitus. I'm 48 with regular cycles.
Take care,
Dana
