Hi community cut a long story short december 2018 i slipped and herniated my L4/L5 disc this came with excruciating pain in my right leg resulting in me having surgery in march 2019 to me this has failed. I have suffered lower back pain and sciatica for 20 years i am 42 in october i had a scan in feb 2017 showing a bulging disc and i had lost some curvature of my lower back thats all i was told until i seen the scan and it showed 3 discs degenerated. Now it is nearly 9 months later i have had 5 half hour sessions of specialist physiotherapy after every session i can hardly move for over a week i have tried swimming walking with no change my right thigh groin and lower abdomen can be severe pain at times and dull pain at times especially if i have been sitting for just a short time pain when i stand on the leg my back just goes whenever it decides as if i cant move and i nearly drop to the ground with the pain i cant sleep as when i turn over the pain is so bad i take 2 codine 4 times a day 2 gabapentin 3 times a day 2 paracetamol 4 times a day with little effect i have tried tramadol with little effect. my neurosurgeon says he cant help with my back pain only my leg pain i have an appointment this month with him maybe i will get a stimulator put in my back i dont know whats going on i have asked for a second opinion from a orthopedic surgeon just waiting on a appointment date. so why am i getting severe thigh groin and lower abdomen pain my back locks up and cracks when doing leg raises i have had another scan with dye and it shows scarring to my nerve root i had allot of scarring that he tried to remove and he said he was optomistic but didnt hold much hope for my future please if someone has the same symptoms or had the same please advise me. ps sorry about the spelling medications dont help

after a MVA 2017, I am in a similar situation. I have endure a few procedure to decompress the pinch nerves from 3 herniated/slipped disks, including non instrumental fusion. i continue having sciatica pain 24/7 down both my legs and when I LAY DOWN ON MY LEFT Side or on my back, my left WHOLE leg on my left and right goes numb/falls asleep until I change position. tried everything. NOW I am being told I need to have open back surgery L6-S1 fusion with HARDWARE this includes installing hardware. MEANING I will be in the hospital between 2 to 5 days.

After spending 2 years plus, seeing a CHIROPRACTOR, PT, massage therapy, acupuncture, painful injections/epidurals.

Sounds to me that the prescriptions you are taking are to many. have you seen a Neuro surgeon. I will be having surgery sometime in October.

I WISH YOU A SPEEDY RECOVERY
