Lower Back Pain

Hello Ladies,

I hope you all are wading through the waters of menopause a little better these days.

I was wondering if any of you have ever experienced lower back pain which travels into your butt cheeks and down your legs. I wake up with pain in my back and legs and sometimes it's there in the evenings too. But once I get up and moving around it loosens up a bit. The fact that it has been frigidly cold outside doesn't help. Especially since I have had back injuries when I was younger. This is no fun at all! 😢

Yes mam, that's one of my constant isuues with these hormones. My pain was so bad, once I went to urgent care in the middle of the night, afraid something else was wrong. All results came back good. I mostly flare up closer to the start of my cycle. Sitting on a warm heating pad and motrin helps alot..

Yes , I have the same. For last three years I have the low back and hips pain. And a year ago I started to have a middle back pain too what sometimes really scare me because it seems as a lung pain, heart pain, upper stomach pain and all together at once. I am not taking anything except an Ibuprofen sometimes when it's too much of pain. I don't have my period almost an year already but nothing changes...

    Hi Sharcev,

Sorry to know you are suffering low back pain. I had one in 2016-2017, which was very bad. Now it flares up again. What I found is I have three bulging discs between L1-L5. As long as the nerve gets touch, my low back gets frozen and painful . What my experience, you better ask doctor to do X ray and MRI check to see if you have any spine problem. My one took almost one year to find out. That is very normal, when people get old, the spine gets degeneration. But do not worry, the symptoms will go away. But we need maintain our spine, like message, Chiro and so on.

Thank God I saw your post, my mind has been racing since yesterday! I'm in exactly same boat, low back pain, with pain in butt and down legs! Do you think it's hormone related, I really hope so cos at the moment, anxiety is really getting better of me.

I have had low back pain for 15 years from my first pregnancy. I went to chiropractor for 10 years until he made things worse, as I developed upper and middle back pain. I started seeing an osteopath and she has helped a lot, but I still get lower back pain and hip and pelvic pain. I never know what is hormones and what is chronic back pain.
