Lower back pain, scared it's the c word

for the past week or 2 I've been having lower back pain, not constant but it comes and goes but it's everyday. it's not period pain as I'm not on so I know it's not that. I wrote another forum the other day asking if anxiety is making me feel this ill.. my symptoms are shortness of breath, chest pains, feeling sick, lump in throats feeling, shaking, hot flushes, clammy hands or cold hands and feet, feeling light headed and dizzy. But I've just recently been feeling this back ache. I've googled and I'm scared it's some sort of cancer as I sometimes have abdominal pain/belly ache I just generally feel ill within myself where I don't even want to get out of bed. I refuse to believe anxiety is making me feel this way.. I'm having a blood test soon as I see a psychiatrist and he wants me too have one, and I'm also going to book a doctors appointment about this back ache but I'm scared, can it be anxiety related? I haven't felt well in myself for years but doctor puts this down to anxiety and paranoid about health. I'm on 15mg of mirtazapine too.

Hi Megan anxiety can cause the most awful physical symptoms. I get tight chest where I feel I cant breathe properly. Burning sensation all over. Feeling sick, headaches. Sweating. Shaking. I've had this 20 years and nothing seems to help. Aches and pains. It's s****e basically

Moira Has your dr checked you for a urine infection at all? Is your temprature normal? Does your urine smellmor look cloudy? Have u got any cystitis?

I always have a quarter of a teaspoonful of bicarbonate of soda in half a glass of water and then drink plenty of water when I get bkache just in caseit is a urine infction starting up.

I would try this first BUT still lbook an urgent appointment with GP to exclude a urine infection!

Anxiety can cause hundreds of different symptoms. Including all kinds of pains. Just get it checked out anyway  so you can have peace of mind. Think about if you been lifting things or sitting in a different way or twisting etc.

all your symptoms you mentioned can definitely be related to anxiety because I've had all of those. And so have many other people. Anxiety can also cause negative thinking and fear.

cancer at your young age is very rare. I'm sure you will be fine.

there are some great meditations on YouTube for clearing negative thinking. There is one called detachment from overthinking that I think could really help you. Just type that title in YouTube use some earbuds if you have them and lie down and listen.

they have many other meditations for anxiety, negativity, sleeping and depression etc.

People get all kinds of aches and pains and 99% of the time it's nothing serious.

    Hi Megan

I suffer aches and pains daily - upper back, middle back, lower back, arms, shoulders, neck - all anxiety related due to tension. In fact when Im not tense I dont feel any or much pain. Try and relax. Speak to GP and get checked out and take pain relief. Im sure you are fine. Anxiety makes aches and pains feel 10 times worse than they are as often we are looking for.things to be physically wrong as its ridiculous to think anxiety.can make us feel this crappy....but it can and does x

Managed to get a late doctors appointment tonight. Doctor had a feel of my belly and checked my urine. Said there was something in my urine so gave me a prescription for a water infection. I do keep feeling really hot too just feel really run down so will get my medication tomorrow. Said to go back if I'm no better x

Glad you saw the dr and he tested your urine, well done for going.

      NB

The sooner you start the antibiotics the sooner you will start to feel better. I would avoid neurophen etc as they can damage the kidney amongst other side effects.

Hope yu do not mind my asking but  why did you not get the prescription dispensed straight away? Are you not near a late opening chemist? If you need to find one that opens late your surgery or the out of hours dr , A and E or the 111 service should be able to help you.

I would keep the number to hand plus times of opening.

Meanwhile I would advise that you drink plenty of water and take a quarter of a teaspoonful of bicarbonate of soda in a glass of water to neutralise the urine help with  cystitis and to calm your bladder down.

      Which antibiotic was prescribed?

      Sorry to be so inquisitive.

      xxx

There isn't a chemist oppersite my doctors but wasent open when I left. There isn't really another local one to me. I don't drive so my dad managed to get them yesterday on his work break. I have agoraphobia too so can't go out to get them myself. I've been given MacroBID capsules, I can't take tablets but my doctor said I could break the capsules and put swallow the powder with a bit of food? I need to take 2 a day and I started them yesterday. I don't know if it's too early but I still feel really crap and the backache is still there sad x
