Lower esophageal sphincter (LES) dysfunction

I have been suffering from GERD for the past 2.5 years and have been off/on PPIs and anti-acids. However, in the last 8 months i have had a severe flare up of symptoms. I have done numerous tests, tried different medications, cut everything out of my diet except for drinking formula and nothing has helped. Today I had a repeat esophagram (barium swallow) which showed bad reflux no hiatial hernia . Basically my LES is relaxing 24/7 and it doesn't matter what i eat/drink, if I'm laying down or standing up, etc. I am currently back on prilosec every day and gaviscon as needed, but of course there's little to no change. I am constantly refluxing/regurgitating and it's creating a multitude of other terrible symptoms, not to mention i am very underweight at 88lbs from a 20lb weight loss from all of this and i'm only 19. Doctors are no help, i don't know what to do. please help

so sorry to hear this. i have simalar symtoms. recently ive been doing intermittent fasting, i stop eating just after 5.30 at night, i only drink water, so my symtoms have almost dissapeared, ive cut down my meddication too. the only thing is ive lost sone weight and think that might be bad for you since you feel you are on the lighter side. but if you try change when you eat it might have an effect on your problem just a thought. good luck to you love xx
