Lower right abdominal pain and swelling what is it?

My boyfriend has severe abdominal pain and swelling on his right side. he has been feeling nausea and has vomited but only once. a few hours ago he noticed blood in his urine too. Has anyone got an idea of what this could be? Thank you

    Please Jade, get him looked at A & E department in your nearest hospital.  Blood in the urine should get sorted a.s.a.p.   Better to be safe than sorry.  People use A & E for minor ailments, so don't feel that you might be wasting hospital time.   Please keep us informed.

    I have to agree with the others here. 

    It could posibly be something along the lines of kidney stones, but its always best to be sure.

    Hi Jade,

    Your boyfriend has to go to his GP with a urine sample. Blood in the urine is not to be ignored! There is a new ad on TV to do with that very thing.The sooner he goes the better. Make an appointment a.s.a.p. He will probably have to have an ultrasound scan to see what is going on with his bladder. Dont delay...Best wishes.
