lower right side sparadic sharp pains

ive been getting sharp pains on the lower right side of tummy.....they come and go . what could be causing this.

    Does your pain move about and do you get change of bowel habit?

    Your appendix is on the lower right quadrant side of your abdomen. It is attached to the large intestine. Sometimes it get inflamed and may cause pain. But, if your pain is extreme you should go to ED at hospital because if it burst it can cause death. At any rate ask your health care provider for an ultrasound & x-ray.
