hi, iv been on sertraline now for 5 months started at 150 as 150 has helped me in the past but this time it hasnt helped me, went up to 200 for 5 weeks and felt so bad. I then lowered to 150 was on that dose for 2 weeks i had one good week then back to feeling rubbish again, im now on 100mg and have been for 1 week, my anxiety is high but im just wondering is it the tablets that are causing this because of the change in dose? im hoping to feel more benefits on 100mg than the previous doses

thanks

Hi Aaron. If I am reading your post correctly you were on 150 for 3 months, increased for 5 weeks decreased for 2 weeks the decreased again? you have to give these meds at least 6 to 8 weeks before you can tell if you are on the right dose, how long were you completely off of them before going back on them? Also, unfortunately because they worked before does not mean they will work again, as I found out when I went back on citalopram, was very worried about changing meds and starting all over again but here I am 4 months in and back to my "normal" self, with very few side effects if you still have faith in sertraline then it is just time and patience you need now to get stable, if you think that the meds are causing you more problems then they are solving then maybe it is time to have a rethink and a chat with your dr, not every anti depressant suits everyone so if you feel you have invested enough time on this one do not be afraid to change
