My endo has stated that my blood results have come back stating that I’m at the higher end of the normal range and has advised me to decrease from 125mg to 100mg of thyroxine per day. I’ve been on 125mg for 1 year and have told him that I’ve felt hyper all year but he told me not to decrease as my bloods were in the normal range until finally my TSH level has gradually increased month on month to a point where he now believes me. Any way, I’m wondering how long it take for me to level out at 100mg and will I gradually get better or will I be all over the place emotionally for example until I’m level or is everyone different?. Thanks

Ps I had a 25mcg that I didnt want many years ago. The doc said that this will relieve my bodily pains that I complained about. I was working at an extremely busy stressful job that I also loved. After a month had my TSH done with other labs at a diff office. I started to feel even crappier than before the decrease. It was really hard to get my results after calling numerous times. Finally got voice msg that everything was OK. But I didnt feel ok. Few weeks passed and I felt so terrible and could barely keep awake. Finally I called tht office back and asked for my TSH.results they were 35!!!!! That's why it's so important to have your results. If I had seen the results or asked for the numbers at least I wouldn't have suffered for months esp working at an energy draining job.

Ps A 25mcg drop may be just what you need, but it's a big drop. So if you start feeling.too hypo get your thyroid tests done ASAP. Why wait for x amount of time when you know there is something not right . A 25mcg drop was not right for me but I didnt feel like I needed the drop like you.

The antibodies of Graves disease can give you the worst anxiety in the world. Before when becomes hypothroid.the tbyroid gland dumps a lot thyroid hormones so you can feel great anxiety from this too. Did you have TSI antibodies tested again? If you still have these then your thyroid could still be dumping. I had a lot of anxiety before dxd w Hashis. The anxiety calmed down and then few years later I became extremely fatigued and was dxd w a high TSH as Hashimotos hypothyroid. Maybe I had TSI antibodies or maybe my thyroid was dumping thyroid hormones.bc I was slowly bcoming hypo without TSI ab. I was never tested for TSI ab. The 25mcg decrease that I didn't.want.caused TSH to go up to 35. So if you feel too fatigued hv your tests done sooner. I waited a month and in error they said I was ok but I wasn't. I just got worse until I called back to get the lab results.not just ok.

This is my 4th attempt my screen is blocked and texts disappear before pressing send. You can always skip a dose or half a dose if you feel that hyper. Can't believe you went a whole year like that. What's with the doctors over there? They give you antidepressants.antianxiety meds that can be really difficult to stop...but too EASY to rx. Low dose. Betablockers can slow your heartrate and are lot easier to discontinue. and rxd a lot in USA for thyroid palpitations. In Grave's as long as you have Grave's antibodies you can experience dumping...even if your doc made you hypo. I think all your anxiety even years before dxd were from Grave's. You can hv antibodies way before bcoming hyperthyroid.

Just read up on Hypothyroid and EXCESS serotonin which can cause a lot of anxiety and stressful feelings that ppl seem to have a lot of in many discussions. This is where antidepressants are not always the best solution and can stir up anxiety instead of having calming effect. It's very complex and serotonin.boosting.meds are not always "feel happy feel good" meds. Serontonin sydrome is also a scary.condition that can be caused by meds or even over the counter supplements/ foods etc. Definately something to read up on and be aware of.

I always thought the imbalances in thyroxin cause the adrenals to try to compensate, which results in anxiety and adrenal exhaustion. Never thought to look at excess seratonin.

Just reread a long text of yours where you said you.had serotonin syndrome. So you know what antidepressants can do to ppl with anxiety with already high serotonin levels. Yes you're lucky to pull through that ordeal.
