I have had bile reflux for a few years now. I was finally diagnosed with a hida scan last year. They still say I also have silent reflux. This year the ENT added to it, LPR! At the beginning of 2018 I began new mouth symptoms. However, only one person can see the spots I will call white ulcers in the back of my mouth. They aren't like a typical ulcer, but they are oval and cave in. They sit in patches of white, almost grayish. There are a couple on the other side of the mouth as well. The first two appeared in February 2018. The other side within a month after that. Ive seen a horrible family dr, Dr Tammy Pruse, in Pensacola. She acted like I was crazy and swiped my throat for strep. I told her it was not. She did not think I should see any other drs after her. To top it off she acted as if I were some sort of drug addict. There is nothing in my history or pharmacy records that would indicate such a thing. I could go on and on about her, but that is not what this is about.

I saw an oral surgeon, Dr David Minto, (a little boy in Fairhope). He refused to help me. He wouldn't put anything through so that it would be covered by my insurance. He used the wrong lights to look at my mouth. He made light of my complaints, stating that I am one of those webmd people. Thanks, Dr Minto for relating my extedned knowledge to a negative context. He would not have said that to a man. The next oral surgeon, Dr Brett Laggan in Pensacola, refused to do a biopsy of one spot but sliced half of it out for free. He wouldn't look at the back of my mouth, claiming that behind the teeth is not for oral surgeon's. Not true. He treated me poorly. After he cut my mouth I was extremely sick and nauseated for two days after, followed by two weeks of tongue numbness. He also accused me of wrong doing for the fact that I brought my mouth xray with me on a cd. Nice. Moving on...I went to an ENT in Fairhope. Dr Frank Hixon. He barely looked into my mouth for a few seconds. He refused to look any further. Then he asked me if I was concerned about my mouth because my Mother had died years ago from cancer. That was completely thoughtless, and rude. I was there for a purpose. He did not even examine my mouth, my neck, or anything. Yet he thought he knew it all, and had me figured out. I would stay away from that place. It was the biggest waste of my time and money.I attempted to make an appointment with an ENT in Pensacola, Dr James Pennington. He refused to see me. When I asked why, I was told it was because I was a patient of Dr Adam Holdt in Pensacola. I explained my desperation, and why I believe Dr Pennington is a good dr. They refused to see me. Why take the oath if you cannot live up to it?

I have been trying to get into Family Practice Associates in Fairhope all year long. It doesn't matter what is wrong with you, how urgent it is...they won't get you in. The earliest a new patient gets in, if they are lucky, is six months. They think they are pretty special there. Then if they make a mistake in scheduling, do not expect them to claim it and make it right, they won't.

I went to a dentist in Robertsdale. She was able to see the grey ulcerations across the back of my mouth. She was also very concerned about my chin numbness, and neck inflammation. They are not normal symptoms to have ongoing for months.

So I kept going back to Dr Holdt, begging for his help. I believed that he had the best education and background. I wanted to believe in him. The majority of the time he was rude to me, and treated me like I was crazy. He would sort of peak into my mouth for a minute. He never used proper lighting. From February through November 2018 he still will not look for the grey ulcerations in the back of my mouth. He agreed to biopsy the tissue in the front of my mouth. It came back as an amalgam tattoo, and on the other side an oral fibroma. (Hoping that the tissue was submitted and read properly.) The top of my mouth (palate) is a yellowish color. There are a few tiny eroded areas. One might say ulcerated, but its just like someone took their fingernail and lightly carved out around my mouth. It is usually the same tone as the area it is at. No edges, or swelling. I have a little bit of that going on on the side of my tongue as well. It is the same color as my tongue so no one notices. My uvula has a red spot on it.

The very back of my mouth, throat area, has cobblestone texture. It has off and on clear and yellow dripping down it. The right tonsilar pilar has been dark red all year. Dr Holdt thinks that is fine. I have read that is something to worry about. On the other hand, I have read that cobblestoning is ok. My tonsils hang differently now, sort of low or loose, and have a white or yellow line going through them. The underneath of the left side of the tongue appears to have changed over time, and look sort of strange. Everyone says it looks fine, so then I try to forget about it.

Dr Holdt said that you cannot do any type of biopsy in the area behind of teeth, in front of and to the side of the tonsills. I asked if he could simply do a brush biopsy, but he refused. After months of me coming back, he finally agreed to look in the back of my mouth with a camera. However it was not the best resolution, we didn't know what we were looking at, and he only looked on one side. He said that I have veins. Well the grey ulcerated areas are very obviously not related to any veins.

He ordered an orbit of the face and neck MRI. The hospital did not understand how to do it. They did the majority of the pics of my brain. The contrast was put in during the last 10-15 minutes. It was suppose to be equally no contrast / contrast, and of the face and neck. It wasn't like he got to the top of the orbits and a little bit showed in the photos. The photos were strictly of my brain! I believe that the hospital should agree to redo the MRI. I am so disappointed that I just break down and cry. I do not do that often. I am tough and strong. I am just at a point coming close to a year of dealing with this, disappointment after disappointment. Now I have enlarged lymph nodes in my left posterior making me uncomfortable and nervous. The lymph nodes themselves do not hurt. My gastro, Roxy Mabry - PA for Dr Finelli in Pensacola told me not to worry about my lymph nodes until they get to be golf ball sized. She said it is ok because she has multiple calcified nodes in her neck. That sounds like very irresponsible advice for someone with my current issues. I had even tried to get a second opinion with a different gastro, but Dr Finelli's office found out without my permission first, and let me know that it is frowned upon, and that they would refuse to keep me as a patient if I ever make an appointment with another gastro. I should mention, I have never even once been able to have an appointment with Dr Finelli. He is only available if you are having an endoscopy or colonoscopy. He runs his own endoscopy center. All they will do for my bile reflux is prescribe PPI's. Some of the worse things you can take. Not to mention, they do not work for bile reflux. I have asked at more than one appointment for a procedure, such as Stretta, but they will not even consider allowing me have a procedure.

A year of being treated this way puts you in a place that is not describable. I don't know what to do. I cannot find any similar pictures to the white / grey ulceration in the back / side of my mouth. Please look at my photos and let me know if you have seen this or had it. Please let me know if you know of any spectacular doctors, and perhaps a top notch dr to perform the Stretta. Thank you
