LS and Birth Trauma

Hi All,
I was dignosed with LS in dec 2017 after around 4 months of LS symptoms, i went private in the UK as i couldnt wait for 4 month on the NHS and thank god. Ive been using cream since and have managed to keep my symptoms at bay using this.
I am seemed to start with mild LS symptoms after the birth of my son by episiotomy 2 years ago, i thought it was piles as i was tearing after every bowel movement, but the symptoms did not go and progressivly got worse.
I have had a very stressful 2 years and think this and birth trauma have basically caused the LS, does anyone else think thier birth trauma caused the LS to occur???? i know everyone on here states stress as a major factor with LS. i am a big believer in all things natural and holistic and i am definatley going to be looking at elimiating sugar and gluten.
I am waiting to see a psycho sexual therapist as my sex drive has gone completely has anyone seen a therapist for LS and found it useful?
Many thanks and lots of love to u all

Yes, in fact someone else mentioned LS associated with her episiotomy. Every time I have a flare up it starts at the episiotomy site. Eliminating sugar and gluten has really helped and I've also started taking Borax soaks. Hope things get better for you

Sweetheart I am sorry to hear you have the ugly 👹 LS monster but glad to know you are an all things natural and holistic babe 😊
Eliminating sugar, processed, wheat and dairy which are all heat producing foods and LS thrives on them is a great help to managing LS symptoms and health care. Also room temp water
Instead of cows milk I use coconut and almond milk in fact whole family have adopted it now.
With a little effort diet can be tasty n beautiful. BTW. Sainsbury’s sell caramelised onion and mushroom sausages fantastic for adding to all day breakfast.
I am 68 have had LS for 17 years with several of those in remission.
In the last 18 months I have have taken full control of my vagina and it’s ugly sneaky snakey cruel painful condition and am successfully managing it and having some fun woo hoo
HaPpY DaYs 🤞🏻😎

Absolutely fantastic news that you have taken control and are living in control of LS 😍👍🏼
I truly believe that I too can post the same on here in the future.....thank you for the tips I do lead a healthy lifestyle with regards to food, but obviously not to the extreme of not consuming sugar but I am willing to do anything.
I think the realisation of what I have is hitting me and it’s not just a case of putting some cream on and it going away unfortunately x

My LS showed up about 8-10 months after my 2nd child was born. At first, I thought my symptoms were hormonal because my period returned right after my symptoms first appeared, then my symptoms went away. They came back with vengeance once I completely stopped breast-feeding. I always wonder if I hadn't breast-fed, would my symptoms have shown up sooner? The delivery with my first child was more traumatic than my second. I had an episiotomy with both, but terrible tearing with the first. The anesthesia wouldn't take for the stitches (first baby) and coincidentally, I had strange pressure pains in that exact spot during my second delivery; this is also the same site where my first LS symptoms appeared. I don't know if it's all a bunch of coincidences, but I strongly believe that my LS was caused by a combination of factors all going back to childbirth and hormones. My derm mentioned to me that there are some studies that theorize that cells from the baby get left behind during delivery and play a role in LS.
I agree that stress plays a huge role. I was doing well until recently. I have been under a lot of stress at work and my father passed suddenly at Christmas time. I'm now having a terrible time managing my LS. This disease is awful. I wish there were more definitive answers.
