LS and IUD

Ive been reading through the posts (not understanding them, mostly, brain fog)......am I right in thinking there is some link between hormone levels and LS? I have a Mirena IUD for birth control and shamefully I dont really know how it works. I never had super moist ladyparts but honestly, it was never the sahara as it is now. Ive had a mirina almost 10 years now, diagnosed LS maybe 6 years ago...?

any thoughts? Im considering having it removed but a) am worried about my monthly mental health and b) is it too late?

Stress is, like a lot of people here, a massive trigger, but how do I de-stress when Im studying and working full time?

thankyou lovely people

I'm very curious too. I haven't had my hormones tested, nor am I on bc. I've wondered if it is hormonal. I'm pretty young and have only had this issue for a year now. but this has been a very stressful year mostly because of the LS. I sure hope some more people have an answer

I Agree here with the hormones don't necessarily have anything to do with it because babies can get LS. That tells me it is more likely to be an autoimmune disease as people of every age can get those.

Been reading, actually finished, a book by Chandoa about LS. She cured herself by removing all the toxic chemicals from her life and I mean all. The theory behind it is that we have overloaded our bodies with so many extra chemicals that our immune system has just about been destroyed trying to fight off the chemical assault. So far, I think she is right and I am researching her research for verification. I'd say get off the IUD, remove pesticides and herbicides like glyphosate from your diet. Start eating whole, organic foods.

In my case my gyn said it was believed to be AI, but mine was definitely a result of too little estrogen ( I already had been diagnosed with atrophy). I'm still not clear on any of it. Maybe being estrogen deprived makes the body susceptible to AI. There are at least 80 AI conditions. Could be that all the chemicals weaken our bodies and make them susceptible. Could be being estrogen deficient made my body weak. Who knows? Doctors seem to be flailing along with us.

Unless we live like the Boy in the Bubble I don't think we can avoid chemicals completely.

The placebo effect is very strong. Maybe some of us improve because we have faith in taking medicine. There are a lot of variables and too few studies of LS.

Hallo unfortunately their is no relation between LS and hormones. no one really knows the origin of LS and the treatment thereof. I was at a Gyni 4 weeks ago who started my treatment with Dovate cortisone at night and coconut oil daily after each wipe at the toilet. i see a major difference . LS can start at any age and it might go away or stay forever
