LS is so ever present

I wanted to stop thinking about having LS as my mind has been going over and over it. So, I stopped using my A&D ointment that helps keep the burning at bay. For a couple of days it was ok, then today the burning started.

Took out my mirror to see what was going on and I had such dryness

around my rectum and a small tear that hadn't been there before a few days ago. Guess there's no "pretend it isn't there" or any time off from this. It

Just takes a lot of care to keep it somewhat under control. Just needed to vent. And having to wait until Monday to see what has prolapsed is it my

bladder, rectum or uterus....then will I have a hysterectomy. All this

worrying isn't helping as it's making my stomach acidy a now I have

canker

sores on my tongue lol geez a Lou this is getting ridiculous.

They say that "A trouble shared is a trouble halved" which is why this site is so helpful.  I do agree with Patricia in that if you have a really good specialist, someone that you respect and trust, then that should help to allay some of your concerns and worries.  Do you feel like you are in good hands?  What is your doctor like?  Is your partner supportive?  If these questions are too personal than don't answer, no worries.

I also agree that you need to find a way to compartmentalize L.S because as you know worrying is not great for L.S.....  Most of the time I manage to do that,  I try not to dwell on it, but its definitely harder to ignore when something unpleasant pops up like a tear or a sore, then all you can do is deal with it and hope it goes away for a while.

I Hope you are feeling a whole lot better today! x

Thanks Guppy. My gyno is a very good doc but I just don't know how much he knows on LS. He is very supportive. This

group has given me more information tho then I received from my doc. Such a comfort having you all here in this group to turn to.

And yes, my husband is very supportive which is wonderful. Can't imagine how much worse this would be if he wasn't.

Remember that weak urine is less stinging than strong , so drink plenty of  water to dilute it a bit. or a lot!

You mentioned a hysterectomy, if you have already reached the menopause your hormone levels will be depleted, try and ensure that your medics inform you about your hormone levels and where ideally they should be- and replace any that are rather low. Changes - and lowering of oestrogen is  thought to be a contributory factor in LS. I you are not at the  menopause phase of your life then do go for HRT if you can

If you are getting canker sores I found that if you take a mild tranquilizer it stops it before it starts because it is brought on by stress
