LS or something else, need advice!

I am 35 and have been having problems with my monthly cycle and getting an open type sore each month for about 18 months now. I seen my GP about it and when she examined me she said it looked like LS because of the white patches of skin and gave me steroid cream and said the chemicals in sanitary products could be aggravating it. In the meantime I have had a diagnostic laparoscopy to rule out endometriosis and I am still waiting to find out what the consultant found. I had my smear test recently and received a letter Saturday to say it was abnormal and needed further investigations. Has anyone else had this with LS because I am worried sick that the symptoms I have had  are due to something else and not LS

    Hi Kerby,

From time to time in my life I have had abnormal pap smears but turned out to be hormonal changes going on.  BUT, it would good to get a biopsy to rule out something more serious.  I hope you can get that done quickly so that you have peace of mind. The biopsy will be most revealing.  Good luck and keep us apprised.

      Hi Susan

Thanks for the reply. They are referring me for a colposcopy which they said I should receive in the next 2 weeks so hopefully have some answers by then.

Hi Kirby, I also have had a lot of abnormal Pap smears. I am sure I had LS for approximately 3 years before my dr sent me to a Gyno. I agree with Susan the best way to be sure is with a biopsy. Good luck with your next procedure. Teineka

Hi teineka, thanks for the reply. I have my appointment on 27th of this month for colposcopy and see my gynae consultant the 1st October to find out what he found doing the laparoscopy. Hopefully I will have some more answers then.
