LS vaginal entrance

Hi

I have had LS for many years now and I have a lot of fusing etc I use clob and baking soda with flare ups

My concern is that my vaginal entrance seems to be more affected than anything, a skin thickening and bulging skin to the inside which is very sore. Any ideas?

Pam, assuming you're not young (I'm 63) some of this, according to my gynae, is just age. Because I'm using a magnifying mirror daily for LS, I look at everything. I was worried about hard yellowish lumps just inside my vagina and she just said, 'Oh, we see a lot of that – it's just age'. And the whole opening feels hard like the rolled up rim of a condom. I say, forget about Viagra – be thankful if he's soft.

I can relate Pammy and I am 70. I have a fear of not being able to wee as it is near the urethra. I just make sure to keep the Advantan fatty ointment on all areas of LS.

Penny, My main problem area is also the vaginal entrance and I have some fusing at the back there.  I just concentrate on that are when using clob and the soreness does seem to go away.  At present my life is sex-free as husband no longer able or interested.

Now when you say that you use the clob and baking soda for flare- ups, do you mean that you no longer follow the twice per week routine or whatever

you were  instructed when your LS was first treated?  From what I can gather from my Gyne and this forum, I am thinking we just carry on with this regular application whether the LS seems in remission or not?  My gyne Dr. says we do this to keep the disease from coming back, which admittedly seems like a lot for our bodies to handle.

When ihave flare - ups, she says to go right back to twice per day, then gradually taper off back to twice per week.

I use Advantan fatty ointment most nights as I am anxious about atrophy especially around my urethra. The only other thing I do is use Dermeze sensitive ointment which is a moisturiser. I own a bidet and was told to wet that area no more than twice a day.

      Hi Helen

Yes I follow the 2twice a week rule but obviously more with a flare

I seem to have like a rim that goes from the uretha all the way around my entrance and then at the bottom it seems to thicken more almost as if it's going into the vagina itself this area being the most uncomfortable. Do you have anything like that?

    Hi Pammy1111'

I understand what your experiencing sorry I can't answer all your questions but my advice would be to see your GP or consultant .Does he /she have a secretary that's good at relaying questions and advice from the consultant ?

Maybe the use of soda could be causing a reaction. If you have used it along time? Or at a high strength.? If your under 60/65 any restriction can really play hell with any intimate relations , even at 60 I'm trying to get that addressed ! Good luck and keep in touch.anyone out there explain clearer.?

    Hello Pammy,

I was just diagnosed with LS, so I've only been dealing with it for a year now and I just turned 33.  I have noticed my recent flare up has spread to the entrance besides up top of the labia minora where it originated. I began using my steroid ointment to treat the opening and will be following up with my doctor in July unfortunatey so far away.  If you have nothing by then I will definitely have info for you..

Pammy1111 hello.  Can you elaborate on the clob and soda treatment you mention?  I've had LS for several years and looking for alternate treatments from traditional steroid creams.  Thanks
